Something Old Something New #2wayTuesday

We’re just getting into spring down here in the South of Africa and boy, oh boy am I excited. How can one not be… longer days and warmer nights to look forward to, and don’t even get me started on all that’s happening in fashion that has me fighting the urges to burn my savings on a new spring/summer wardrobe.

Saving is a major focus for me lately (nobody told me this adult ingredients thing wasn’t all fun and games), and I’ve been having a bit of fun digging into my wardrobe to find fresh ways to mix my old with my new items to help update my spring look.

We’ve all seen tons of afri-print skirts in varying styles and lengths out there. It’s a staple for some and a must-have trend item for others; but I think we can all agree it’s a flattering style for most, that’s easy to wear in countless ways and here are two new ways I’ve enjoyed wearing my African printed skirt.

The first look saw me wearing the skirt with an off-the-shoulder frill top that’s quite popular this season, paired with rope style block heels from Country Road that are uber comfortable.

This look is still laid back and casual, but the block heel adds a little something that could almost see it go from a lunch date into evening drinks.

The second look was a bit more casual, with the skirt being worn with a crop golfer and a pair of sandals I picked up at a small market in Colombia recently; and I loved mixing in different prints in the shoes and scarf used to tie my hair up.

Being a lover of exploring (checkout #teetheexplorer on  instagram) be it in my own city or a new one, this would be a great outfit to do it in; brunching, walking, snapping pics and just soaking up the sun man.

How would you style up this afri-print skirts?
